Students are trained in technical concepts and skills that prepare them for national certification and enable them to become professional massage therapists. This well-rounded 610-hour program includes:
- Anatomy, physiology and pathologies of the human body;
- Skills in assessment and mastery of massage techniques for therapeutic application;
- Correct body mechanics and ethical and emotional boundaries;
- An understanding of and ability to apply professional business practices;
- Lab work in which students work with clients, friends and family to experience different body types, levels of tension and health issues;
- How to incorporate good self-care - a key component of their ability to offer clients therapeutic and relaxing massages.
